Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 15 years of design and construction administration experience for institutional and life sciences buildings. Knowledge in power distribution systems, lighting and security systems will be an asset as will LEED accreditation.
Qualified candidates must be designated as P.E., licensed to practice in the Province of Alberta, Canada.

Mechanical Construction Administrator
Hemisphere Engineering is a combined mechanical and electrical engineering firm dedicated to the delivery of world class building engineering services to our clients. We specialize in diverse types of facilities including healthcare, laboratories, schools, recreation, high rises and commercial construction. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our construction Edmonton administration team.
The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of construction management experience from a consulting engineering firm, leading contract management for a variety of mechanical projects.
Alternatively, 10 to 20 years of progressive experience in the mechanical trades with clear demonstration of construction leadership such as: Site superintendent, project manager or commissioning agent.
Responsibilities Include:

Regular site visits to ongoing construction projects to document progress, identify deficiencies and report issues

Be familiar with design specifications for each project and be able to ensure installation meets spec
-
Communicate between engineer, constructors and clients in a professional manner
-
Manage construction issues in a proactive and timely fashion
-
Work with engineers and contactors to provide solutions and contribute to the overall success of the project
Qualifications:

A diploma in HVAC or a Mechanical Engineering Degree
-
Alternatively a Journeyman ticket in one or more of the following: Sheet metal mechanics, plumbing or refrigeration mechanics

Other qualifications such as HVAC controls background will be considered

Additional qualifications in electrical installation also will be valued

Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal

Experience with construction contract documents including site instructions, notice of change, shop drawings and RFI’s

Superior organization and time management skills- must be able to manage concurrent projects and be self sufficient
