Elective Surgery Center, Royal Alex Hospital
Located on the Royal Alex Hospital site, this 7435 m2 facility will be the first of its kind in Canada. The Elective Surgery Center is expected to help reduce wait times for hip and knee replacements. For patients who have received hip and knee surgery, the objective is to have them home four days after surgery. This stand-alone orthopedic surgery center will have two operating rooms, over 50 beds and 150 staff. Expected for completion in 2009, construction value on the Elective Surgery Center is approximately $60M
