Enterprise Square
Proposed redevelopment of the Bay Building in downtown Edmonton will house University research facilities and include TEC Edmonton and all groups from the Research, Transition Facility. At present, Enterprise Square temporarily houses the Art Gallery of Alberta. Size – 32,400 m2.
The Hudson’s Bay Company has owned the property since the 1800’s and the Bay building was built in phases which began in 1939 with an expansion and a third storey added in 1954. The building is designated a Municipal Historic Resource. Anticipated completion for fall 2007 at a cost of $33M.
