Sir Winston Churchill Square
Sir Winston Churchill Square, located directly across from Edmonton’s City Hall, is a
premiere showpiece in Edmonton for a variety of artists and entertainers. Hemisphere
Engineering carried out mechanical and electrical work for this legacy project which
commemorates Edmonton’s 100 year celebration in 2004. This is an excellent example of unique lighting design which compliments the redevelopment and landscaping of this site. The project includes:
• Specialty lighting including aimed floodlights from 50’ poles.
• In-ground LED chase lighting which can be programmed to sequence from color to color.
• Landscape and treed areas with 20’ tall vertical light pipes.
• Specialty glass and metal store columns with color changing vertical light beams.
• Fibre optic lighting design for a special waterfall feature.
• The Square also includes power services for stage productions and up to 60 food vendor booths and/or street performer locations.
