NAIT Waiward Center for Steel Technologies (Souch Campus)
This project was part of NAIT Center for Apprenticeship Technologies (NCAT) initiative to create additional training facilities for various apprenticeship trades in Alberta. Phase 1 of the development included:
An internal expansion to the ironworker and metal buildings erector shop
An external expansion to the structural steel fabricators and platefitters shop
Construction of four new 30 seat welding shops, two grinding rooms and a preparation shop
Construction of an unassigned shop/lab to accommodate instruction in leading-edge apprenticeship technologies as they arise
Construction of new instructional spaces, expanded cafeteria and general offices
Completed in the fall of 2006 at a construction value of approximately $12M
