The NEIDL facility is a 191,000 gsf housing state-of-the-art BSL-4 and BSL-3 biocontainment laboratories and associated BSL-2 laboratories, animal, insectary, clinical research, and research support space. It is located on the Boston University Medical Center campus.

Completed in 2008, the 144,000 gsf NIH/NIAID intramural high containment biodefense facility was the first (A) BSL-2/3/4 building to be constructed at the new National Interagency Biodefense Campus at Fort Detrick.
