A 288 m2 expansion to the existing building – KSA Biotech Center. The new space is utilized as a preproduction pharmaceutical process facility.
It incorporates administration, washrooms, storage, equipment rooms and support space, fermentation suite, buffer preparation suite, purification process area, washing and sterilizing, gowning rooms and access corridors for passage into and out of the controlled production areas as well.
Designed and constructed to meet the requirements of a Biosafety Level (BSL2) facility as outlined in Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines (Health and Welfare Canada) and complying to the requirements of a Class 10,000 clean room.
Completed in 2005 at a construction value of approximately $3.5M
