U of Alberta Institute Of Nanotechnology

slideshow-nanotechnology.jpg

The National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT) is a first generation Nano-research facility, the first such facility in Canada. Conceived to be a Center for research and development as well as an incubator facility for industry partners, it is anticipated that this facility will be a catalyst for new fields of technology and will rival similar research facilities in the US and internationally.

The facility is a six-story building located on the U of A Campus.  Along with research offices, wet laboratories and clean nano-fab space, the facility features several ultra sensitive electron microscopes (STM’s, TEM,s).

Completed in the summer of 2006 at a construction value of approximately $40M.
