USAMRIID Replacement Facility
The alliance team of CUH2A Smith Carter Hemisphere has been awarded the architecture and engineering design services contract for a new replacement facility for the US Biological Defense Research Program’s lead medical research laboratory at Fort Detrick, MD. An ambitious and important commission, the 700,000 gross sq. ft. integrated research facility will house the US army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease (USAMRIID), which is the centerpiece of the National Interagency Biodefense Campus. Together, the Hemisphere alliance has successfully collaborated on many other bio-containment facilities including the Nation Biocontainment Laboratory for Boston University.
